This policy applies to LifeTracker, published by LND apps, and explains the current app’s data practices.
Privacy at a glance
LifeTracker works without a LND apps account. Your selected memories, photo references, preferences and derived travel summaries stay in the app on your device. The app does not upload them to LND apps and does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
Apple services may process photo-location coordinates for place names and microphone audio for speech recognition when you choose those features.
Memories and preferences
LifeTracker stores the titles, categories and identifiers of moments you add; the local identifiers of Photos you pin to a year; theme and appearance choices; selected history entries; prompt acknowledgement; and whether app lock is enabled. It also uses a birth date and horizon age in memory to build the timeline.
LifeTracker includes a bundled catalogue of public historical events and notable deaths. Turning entries on or off stores only your selection.
Photos, dates and stored locations
With your permission, LifeTracker reads photos from your Apple Photos library to find images by year, display the images you choose, and read their creation dates, local identifiers and embedded location metadata. You can grant full or limited Photos access.
The app stores references to pinned Photos, not duplicate originals. Removing a photo from LifeTracker removes its reference from the timeline and does not delete the original from your Photos library.
For travel summaries, the app groups stored photo locations and sends representative coordinates to Apple’s geocoding service to obtain place names. Resolved place names and rounded coordinate keys are cached locally. LifeTracker does not request or use your current device location.
Speech recognition and app lock
If you dictate a photo description, LifeTracker uses the microphone and Apple speech recognition. The app requires on-device recognition when the device and language support it; otherwise the feature may be unavailable or Apple may process speech according to the system service. The resulting text becomes part of the local moment you save.
If you enable app lock, iOS uses Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID or the device passcode to authenticate you. LifeTracker receives only the success or failure result and does not receive or store biometric data.
Retention, deletion and your controls
- Remove pinned photo references and delete moments from the relevant year in the app.
- Change Photos, microphone and speech permissions in iOS Settings. Limited Photos access lets you choose which photos are available.
- Turn app lock off in the app after device authentication.
- Deleting LifeTracker removes its local moments, selections, photo references and place-name cache, subject to iOS backups you control. It does not delete original photos from Apple Photos.
Because the current app does not create an online account or upload this data to LND apps, there is no corresponding LND apps server account to delete.
