This policy explains how Orator by LND apps uses and stores information during speaking practice.
Privacy at a glance
This policy covers the current version of Orator, also named “Orator:speaking coach”. It works without a LND apps account. Orator does not upload your practice data to LND apps, include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, or track you across other apps or websites.
Information stored on your iPhone
Orator stores information you enter or create during practice, including your profile and speaking goals, custom scripts, vocabulary progress, settings, streaks, practice results, transcripts and recent audio recordings. Speech analysis can include word timings, pace, pauses, filler words and articulation feedback.
Profile, scripts and practice histories are stored in the app’s private local files. Preferences are stored locally. Recordings and related review data are kept in the app’s local storage so you can replay recent attempts.
Microphone and speech recognition
Speaking activities ask for microphone and Apple speech-recognition permission. Orator uses the microphone to record your practice and Apple’s on-device speech recognition to transcribe it. If on-device recognition is unsupported for the language on your device, Orator stops recognition instead of falling back to cloud recognition.
You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings. Denying access prevents activities that need recorded speech; typed vocabulary answers remain available.
Coach audio and services
Coach demonstrations and feedback clips are pre-generated audio bundled with Orator. Some clips were created using ElevenLabs during app development. Your voice, scripts and transcripts are not sent to ElevenLabs by the app. On-device speech synthesis may be used when a bundled clip is unavailable.
The current app has no online account, cloud coaching service or LND apps server storage for your practice data.
Optional practice reminders
If you enable practice reminders, Orator requests notification permission and schedules reminders locally on your iPhone. The reminder setting and your practice activity help determine when a reminder is needed. LND apps does not receive notification-delivery data.
Retention, deletion and your controls
Local profile, scripts, preferences and progress persist between launches until cleared or the app’s data is removed. Orator retains a limited set of recent recordings per activity and automatically removes older recordings and their review data as that limit is exceeded. Practice-history entries can outlast the corresponding audio.
- Settings → Reset everything clears your profile, progress, saved scripts and practice histories and returns you to onboarding. It does not erase every stored recording or preference.
- To remove the app’s local data, use Delete App in iOS Settings. Offloading the app preserves its documents and data.
- Manage microphone, speech-recognition and notification access in iOS Settings.
- Device backups you control may contain app data. Manage or delete those backups separately through Apple’s backup settings.
There is no LND apps server account or uploaded practice-data copy to delete.
